“You're not here to learn something new. You're here because something isn't moving in the right direction.”

Liminality Partners work where intentions meets human reality.

Strategy, transformation, and M&A don’t just execute — they create thresholds to navigate wisely.”

Explore that space — and make partners with it

"Navigating today's complexity and change means navigating thresholds — not merely executing plans"

The Space Between.

Strategy Documents Rarely Capture It.

Neither do plans for transformation or integration of acquisitions. But the thresholds are real. The tension of standing at them, lives in decisions, in relations, and in the moments where momentum quietly fades.

Developing a strategy or getting a signed M&A deal happens under pressure, uncertainty, and ambiguity. It is tempting to manage this by focusing on what fits in expert reports, in models, and on slides — downplaying or even ignoring the deeply human journey required to execute and realise intentions.

But You Have Seen The Pattern.

Experts were convincing, slides were tight, and plans made sense — yet slipped in the lived reality of your organization. When execution slips, it is tempting to respond with more analysis, more structure, more control — right when something entirely different is needed.

This shows up not only in hesitation, tension, stress, symbolic alignment, or withdrawal — it also shows up in lack of results.

Most recognise this dynamic long before they have words for it. But if it drains you to think about it, you know it: the same approach will not create a different outcome.

But is there an alternative? And do you treat this recognition as a burden or an invitation?

There Is An Alternative, A Different Path.

A path that crosses the threshold between intentions and lived reality. A path into the ‘liminal space’ where both worlds are held simultaneously — analysis and intuition, rigor and presence, structure and emergence.

Leaders who succeed are not those who insist to stay professional and composed, but those who get in touch with what is actually happening.

They not only recognize the threshold, they cross it — and make partners with the liminal.

"Having crossed the threshold, you can work consciously from within liminal space itself"

An Integrated Path.

Engaging us is less about fixing a problem, and more about navigating the moments that matter. Working effectively in the liminal space requires more than better plans — it requires a way of engaging that can hold structure and human reality simultaneously.

The way we work with leaders and leadership teams, leverages perspectives from both of these worlds tailored and balanced to what is needed as well as to what you have appetite and readiness for.

Business Rigor

Deep corporate and consulting experience with tested approaches from design through to execution of strategies, transformations, and M&A deals.

The Liminal Space

Support of leaders in entering the liminal space  for you to unlock, hold, skilfully balance, and partner with both worlds — where uncertainty, identity, power, and emotion intersect with decision-making.

Human-Centered Approach

Curated and adapted perspectives from behavioral and cognitive sciences, leadership development, psychology, philosophy, somatic practices, and spiritual traditions.

"These dynamics tend to surface most clearly at particular moments in an organization’s life."

When It Matters — Is When You Would Engage Us.

When Traditional Approaches Fail.

When traditional execution methods have not yielded the intended results — and internal dynamics and field conditions block progress.

When you as leaders need support that goes beyond standard program management or leadership coaching.

When you require an experienced and trusted sherpa to navigate complex, ambiguous, and high-risk transitions — a sherpa who does not just add horsepower, but one who has already partnered with the liminal space and can help you navigate it too.

Or Before Failure Starts Hitting.

Do reach out, when you know that something essential was missed last time — and sense that it will likely will be missed again.

We can help you avoid that — already from when you scope your future strategy or transformation process or initiate an M&A journey.

In short, clients engage us when the challenge is not a ‘technical’ one to fix — but the challenge is how to stay oriented, present, and effective in complexity, ambiguity, and change.

“At this point, the question is no longer whether change is needed — but how it is navigated.”

Liminality Partners: A Better Way to Navigate Transformation.

We work at moments where established approaches still matter — but are no longer sufficient on their own.

The term “liminality” comes from the Latin word for threshold. It describes the critical in-between phase of any major change or transformation. It also captures the fluid space where seemingly conflicting logics are both present and are both relevant.

Between 60% and 90% of strategy executions, transformations, and M&A deals fail — because this threshold is ignored and this liminal space is avoided. This is not because leaders are incapable — but because the work required extends beyond what traditional approaches are designed to hold.

What We Deliver (examples):
  • Sherpa / advisor roles for CEOs, sponsors, and program leads.
  • Strategy execution and transformation leadership support.
  • M&A support with a focus on ensuring integration or separation.
  • Diagnostics to identify and mitigate barriers to execution.
  • Executive coaching focused on presence, decision-making, field awareness, and vertical development.
  • Board membership to anchor ‘liminal space’ navigation capacity.

These are not deliverables in a traditional sense — but capacities delivered to enable leaders to attend to what matters.
What Clients Consistently Report:
  • Increased alignment and follow-through.
  • Earlier identification of risks and breakdown points.
  • Sustained momentum through complex phases of execution.
  • Improved trust and transparency in leadership teams.
  • Awareness of previously hidden personal and system dynamics.
  • Greater confidence in acting — without premature certainty.
  • Reduction of hidden resistance.

What clients clearly notice, is the reduction of unseen drag — the patterns that slow or misdirect movement.
Our Approach is Grounded in:
  • People with a history of extensive threshold & liminal space work.
  • Rigorous strategic and operational experience.
  • Deep understanding of human and organisational dynamics.
  • Self- and field-sensing methodologies that surface barriers early.
  • Interventions tailored to need and aligned with readiness.
  • Close coordination with sponsors, leaders, and internal teams.

This enables us to work with factors that are real in impact, even if not yet fully visible or nameable in traditional business language.
Our Engagement Model:
  • We begin with a diagnostic conversation and scoping process.
  • We adapt approach, pace, and depth based on individual and organisational need and readiness.
  • We work in close collaboration with sponsors and internal leads.
  • We maintain confidentiality and work within agreed boundaries and decision frameworks.

We invite and allow what matters to surface — without losing momentum or executive accountability.

"This tend to matter most to leaders in situations where clarity is partial and stakes are real."

Why Would You Engage Us.

Because You Have Seen It And You Have Felt It.

The quiet drain in a room where everyone says yes, but nothing actually shifts? The quiet drift after a launch or the signing of an M&A deal, where momentum evaporates? The sense that something underneath is steering the outcome — with no one naming it?

And you know that well-rehearsed town-halls, symbolic change management, or dazzling communication pushes will not undo this.

And Because You Are Willing To Engage With How Change Is Lived.

Most leaders respond either with more analysis, more structure, more control — or turn their ‘executive attention’ to something else.

But you are ready to enter the space where frameworks reach their limit and real execution begins — where outcomes no longer follow method but follow those able to truly hold the room.

You are also ready to take initial guidance from people who have already entered — and partnered with the liminal space

Our work is for leaders ready to cross the threshold and stay present — where clarity emerges through presence and engagement, not symbolic certainty.

"The nature of this work places specific demands on the people doing it."

Who You Will Meet.

Anders Lau Tuxen, Liminality Partner and Sherpa.

Executives face a paradox: they hold responsibility for strategy, transformation, and M&A — yet the need for real leadership emerges at the threshold between intention and lived reality, between structure and human behaviour, and between the leaders they have been… and the ones they must become.

For more than 25 years, I’ve explored that paradox and worked at that threshold. Now as a Liminality Partner, my work sits firmly where strategies and plans meet human complexity — where the capacity for true leadership becomes decisive.

My career spans across top-tier consulting, corporate, and extensive global project work. From this; I bring a both practitioner’s and an advisor’s deep understanding of what can make execution succeed — and of why so often it does not.

I have also studied Adaptive Leadership at Harvard University and am certified within Vertical Development approaches. I use this to help leaders engage with complexity, conflict, and uncertainty from new and more mature stances.

This I integrate with the latest insights into human dynamics, embodied practices, and relational field awareness — shaped also by my own leadership journey, by my own personal development, and by the deep inner work this has required.

I work with leaders as both thinking partner, as a steady presence, and as a hands-on sherpa — also when the work becomes personal.

"Because threshold work is multi-dimensional, we work with partners who share this orientation."

Selected Partners.

For us to bring the right set of skills and experience, we sometimes involve other partners. This gives us the opportunity to tailor our team, our approach, and our interventions — to what you and the liminal space call for.

Reflections from some of our partners — leaders, practitioners, advisors, and coaches engaged in complex change:

"If this resonates not just intellectually, but experientially, a conversation may be timely."

Are you ready to cross the threshold?

Not every challenge calls for this kind of partnership. We use initial conversations to explore whether the moment, the leadership context, and the way of working create a mutual fit.
